Quick start
Sign up
Open the app and tap "Make an account." Use email + password or Sign in with Apple. If you used email, check your inbox (and your spam folder — confirmation emails sometimes land there) for a "Confirm your email" link. Tap it on your phone — it bounces straight back to the app.
Make your first shlop
- Tap the orange + button at the bottom center.
- Pick 1–4 photos.
- Name it (or tap 🎲 Surprise me for a random absurd name).
- Drag the Sloppiness slider — 1 is "Untouched," 10 is "Soup."
- Add ingredient tags (free-form text — anything you type becomes a tag).
- Optional notes / recipe / confession.
- Tap Unleash the Shlop.
React to other shlops
Tap 🤤 (Drool — "I want that") or 🤢 (Disgust — "respectfully, that is gloriously vile"). Both are positive in this community. You can switch between them or tap again to remove your reaction.
Find people and ingredients
Tap the magnifying glass tab to search by username, post title, or ingredient. Or browse the popular-ingredient pills on the search screen.
Troubleshooting
I confirmed my email but the app didn't open
Make sure you tapped the link on the same device where Shlop Share is installed. If the link opens a browser instead, your email client may need an update — try long-pressing the link and selecting "Open in Shlop Share."
My photos aren't uploading
Check that you're connected to the internet. If the issue persists, sign out and back in. If still stuck, email us with your username and we'll look into it.
I want to change my username
Currently usernames are set during onboarding and can't be changed in-app. Email us to request a change.
Reporting and blocking
Report a post, user, or comment
Tap the ••• menu on the item → Report. Tell us what's wrong. We review every report within 24 hours.
Block a user
Open their profile → ••• → Block this shlopper. Their content disappears from your feed instantly, and they can't see yours.
Manage blocked users
Profile tab → ⚙️ Settings → Blocked shloppers. Tap "Unblock" to reverse.
Account
Sign out
Profile tab → ⚙️ Settings → Sign out.
Delete your account
In the app: You tab → ⚙️ Settings → Delete account → confirm. Your profile, shlops, comments, reactions, follows, and uploaded photos are erased immediately. This is irreversible.
