Privacy Policy

Shlop Share ("the app") is built and operated by Henry Gawelek ("we," "us"). This policy describes what data we collect, why, and what choices you have.

Plain English version: we collect what we need to make the app work and nothing else. We don't sell your data. We don't track you across apps or websites. There are no advertising SDKs.

What we collect

When you use Shlop Share, we collect the following:

• Account info: your email address (or Apple-private relay email), display name, username, and an optional bio + avatar image.
• Content you post: photos of your shlops, post titles, ingredient tags, sloppiness ratings, optional notes, optional location city, and comments.
• Reactions and follows: which posts you 🤤 / 🤢, who you follow, and who follows you.
• Reports and blocks: when you report a post, user, or comment, or block another user, we record the action and your stated reason.
• Standard server logs: minimal request metadata (timestamps, status codes) handled by our backend host (Supabase).

What we do not collect

• We do not collect precise location. The optional "location city" field is a free-form string you choose to enter.
• We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• We do not collect device identifiers (IDFA, etc.) for tracking purposes.
• We do not access your contacts, calendar, microphone, or background location.

How we use it

• To run the app and let you sign in across devices.
• To show your shlops to other users, and theirs to you.
• To enable social features: reactions, comments, follows, search, and notifications.
• To enforce the community rules — when you report or block someone, we use that information to investigate and act.

Where it lives

Your data is stored on Supabase, our backend infrastructure. Sign in with Apple is provided by Apple. Both companies have their own privacy policies.

We do not share your data with any other third party.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, your posts, your comments, your reactions, and your follow relationships.

How to delete your account

If you can't sign in (lost password, locked out, etc.), email henry.gawelek@gmail.com from the email on your account and we'll handle it within 7 days.

Content moderation

Shlop Share is a user-generated content app. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive behavior. If you encounter either:

• Tap the "•••" menu on any post, user, or comment to Report it.
• Tap "Block" on any user profile to immediately stop seeing their content (and stop them seeing yours).

We respond to reports within 24 hours and remove content or accounts that violate our policies.

Children

Shlop Share is rated 17+ and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and bump the effective date. For breaking changes (new categories of data collected, new third parties), we'll also notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
