Garage Time stores your vehicle, customer, and service data in your private iCloud account. Nothing is sent to our servers because we don't have any. We do not sell, share, or analyze your data.
What we collect
Vehicle & service data you enter (vehicles, customers, parts, service records, quotes, photos) — stored locally and synced through your iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit.
Anonymous crash reports through Apple's standard crash reporting, if you opt in via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Purchase history for in-app subscriptions, handled entirely by Apple's App Store. Garage Time receives only the entitlement status.
What we do NOT collect
Your name, email, phone, or address.
Location.
Contacts, calendar, or other personal data outside the app.
Browsing or usage analytics (no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Google Analytics).
Anything sent to a third party for advertising.
Third parties
Apple iCloud (CloudKit) — syncs your data between your devices. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
NHTSA vPIC API — when you scan a VIN, the 17-character VIN is sent to the U.S. government's vehicle decoder service to look up year/make/model. No personal info goes with it.
Apple App Store — for in-app purchases and subscription management.
Your data, your control
Export: Settings → Data → Export All exports your full dataset as JSON.
Delete: Settings → Data → Erase All permanently removes your data from this device. To remove iCloud copies, use iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Garage Time → Delete Data.
Garage Time does not require an account. There is nothing for us to "delete" because we never had it.
We reply within 2 business days. Include your iOS version and what you were doing when the issue happened.
Common questions
Where is my data?
On your device, with optional iCloud sync. We do not have a server.
Will my data sync to my iPad/Mac?
Yes — as long as both devices are signed into the same iCloud account, and iCloud Drive is enabled in iOS Settings.
I cancelled my subscription. What happens?
Your existing data remains. You drop to the Free tier limits (1 personal vehicle, no PDF export, no customers).
How do I restore a purchase?
Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. You must be signed in with the same Apple ID you originally purchased on.
